About Us
Thistle and Pearl was born from a love of beautifully styled weddings and thoughtfully designed celebrations. Specialising in wedding and event prop hire and styling, we believe the magic is found in the details: the carefully chosen pieces, the layered textures, and the moments that feel effortlessly you.
With over eight years of experience in the wedding industry, Thistle and Pearl is led by Leanne, whose passion for creating timeless, elegant settings has shaped countless special days. Leanne has styled weddings at many of East Yorkshire’s most loved venues (as well as beautiful locations across North Yorkshire) and has built wonderful working relationships with venues and trusted suppliers along the way. This means she is always happy to share recommendations for florists, caterers, venues and other wedding professionals, helping couples feel supported every step of the way. After taking a short pause to grow her family, Leanne returned to the business with fresh inspiration and a renewed love for helping couples bring their vision to life.
Alongside her is Millie, the newest addition to the Thistle and Pearl team. With a natural creative flair and a background in wedding stationary, Millie brings a keen eye for detail and a love for design that perfectly compliments the styling side of the business. She’s excited to be working alongside Leanne, learning from her experience and adding a fresh perspective to every event.
Together, Thistle and Pearl offers more than just prop hire - we create beautifully curated spaces that tell your story. From intimate weddings to larger celebrations, every piece is chosen with care to ensure your day feels personal, stylish and unforgettable.
We truly feel honoured to be part of life’s most meaningful moments and can’t wait to help style yours.
Leanne’s Wedding Day
Our wedding day was everything we hoped it would be - relaxed, joyful and filled with the people who mean the most to us.
In 2022, we married at The Barn at Willerby Hill, surrounded by around 60 of of our closest friends and family. From the moment everyone arrived, there was such a lovely atmosphere with laughter and smiles.
A standout feature of the day was the incredible graze table by Haisthorpe Supper Club, which brought everyone together. It was beautifully presented and a relaxed alternative that felt both modern and indulgent.
We couldn’t resist planning a surprise… just when guests least expected it, the undercover singing waiters burst into song, filling the barn with laughter and applause and got the party started.
One of our favourite moments was slipping away at sunset to the surrounding countryside for photos, as the sky turned golden - a quiet, magical pause in the middle of such a joyful day.
As evening fell, it was time to turn up the energy with our sax player - setting the tone for a night of dancing, celebration and unforgettable memories.
It was a day full of love, laughter and music - the perfect beginning to our next chapter.

Millie’s Wedding Day
Our wedding day was never about big numbers or grand gestures - it was about the people we love most, and creating something that felt completely us.
We got engaged in 2019 and booked our big wedding with a venue in North Yorkshire for 2022. Following the pandemic in 2020, it put into perspective what was important to us so we changed our wedding date and decided on a more intimate wedding. By the time we married in 2021, wedding restrictions had just lifted. Although we technically could have invited more guests, we chose to keep our day small and intimate, surrounded only by immediate family and close friends - a decision we’ve never once regretted.
Our ceremony took place at the beautiful Sewerby Hall, a setting that felt relaxed and close to our hearts. After saying our vows, we spent time wandering the gardens for photographs, soaking in the moment. Those quiet moments together, away from the noise, are some of our favourite moments - we were also lucky enough to visit the beach close to sunset with our photographer to get some last minute magical shots.
The celebration continued at my parent’s courtyard garden, where we hosted our reception. Every detail was created with love - from the styling to the atmosphere - and it felt incredibly special to celebrate in a place that already held so many family memories. As the evening rolled in, the living room quickly transformed into our dance floor for us to take our first dance. Shoes were kicked off, the music was turned up, and what started as a small gathering turned into an unforgettable party. It was loud, joyful, and full of laughter.
That day taught me that weddings don’t have to follow rules to be meaningful. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a larger celebration, the most important thing is that it reflects you.
